Sequence Letters Reviews
16 of 17 people found the following review helpful Fun Game for Young Kids, = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Sequence Letters (Toy) I bought this game for a student in my first grade class who was struggling with beginning letter sounds. After receiving it, I found other uses such as helping to improve vocabulary for ESL students. The kids like it so much, they want to play it at recess. It was much cheaper on Amazon than the bookstore I originally found it at. Good game if you are looking for a fun/educational activity for younger children (preschool to 1st grade). 9 of 9 people found the following review helpful Letters & Their Sounds Made Fun, By = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Sequence Letters (Toy) I use this game in my ESL kindergarten class, and the children love to play it. Not only that, they quickly learn that the letter on each card represents the initial sound--or, in the case of "fox," the end sound--of the picture featured on each card. And, without really trying, it's not long before they learn word recognition, sequencing strategies, new vocabulary related to logic, and even social interaction. Everyone loves this game (including the teacher). Buy it for learning; but, more important, buy it for fun. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful Great Review of Letter Sounds, By Sarasyn (Killeen, TX) - See all my reviews = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: This review is from: Sequence Letters (Toy) As an unschooling family, we're always looking for fun ways to teach new skills without actually sitting down for formal lessons. Sequence Letters is great for our family format. The game is a little frustrating for my four-year-old son, but that's mostly because he's having a hard time grasping the concept of winning. He'd rather put the pieces on the board in crazy patterns than try to win, so he gets frustrated about everyone else winning all the time. However, it's been an excellent lesson in beginning letter sounds. As with any structured game for children, it's a wonderful way to learn about rules and strategy to win. I think this is a wonderful game for any child who wants to learn letter sounds, or is having a hard time with letter sounds. |
